Recently, Plex Media Server has been crashing every couple of days. Scanning through the logs from about when it seemed to crash, I do see a bunch of errors. But I can’t decode what they’re referring to:

OK, thanks for that. AFAIK these were the default settings, so I’ve updated them now. Is there a way to enable/disable crash logs? I’m not seeing that in the settings.
Just logged in to say me too! Tried updating to the latest stable PMS and the server has crashed again. I have to go back into package centre and click RUN to start it up again.
Been doing this on my 1019+ every few days for the last month or so. I keep updating hoping that the issue goes away but I have to remote into my NAS and press “Run” every once in a while to restart it
Currently running 4602 and it just happened again.
What log files exactly do you need? The zip file lists 144 of them and I don’t want to upload the whole folder because of personal data (mail adress, e.g.) in there.
Just want to add I have also noticed extreme utilisation usage on the Synology NAS in the last few days too, started around the same time this crash issue began. Volume utilisation hangs at 100%.
The log files I need are those captured from the server (Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs) - the ZIP file.
The best logs to capture for me are those where you either recreate a playback failure or 3 minutes after restart from a PMS crash. (3 minutes allows PMS to start the stabilize on almost all machines)
Thanks for the quick reply ChuckPa, now sorry to be a bit dumb here but I’ve downloaded the files and it’s a folder with a lot of individual files, when you say zip file, was that meant to be downloaded or did you want me to zip it?
Hi Trumpy,
Thankyou for the feedback. I didnt even notice that was an issue. Sorry for the n00b mistake. I never had any issue prior to this. I will work on getting move asap.
Hi, devs! Same/similar issue here…Plex has always run flawlessly, for years and years on end, until the last two or so PMS builds running on my DS720+ with DSM 6.2.4-25556.
the symptoms: it crashes and closes out after a few minutes of running, maybe a half hour?
Oddly, if after restarting the PMS software in DSM, and quickly selecting a movie or tv show to play (on iOS, in Plex Web, or AppleTV…doesn’t matter), it’ll play back fully fine without any issues, but if the software is left to its own devices and not playing a file back, that’s when it crashes, 100% consistency.
So I’ve had to go into DSM a lot and had to re-run the PMS package.
