Server Version#: 1.20.4.3517
Player Version#: N/A
I’m not sure which logs to provide, so if you know where to look for this issue, let me know. I originally posted about this at the beginning of 2020 but got zero response at all.
Plex will run fine for a day or two, sometimes most of a week, but eventually will crash somehow, and I can’t get it started again so I restart the Windows 7 (SP1, of course) computer that it’s running on, and when I try to run the server, the shortcut says that the file it points to no longer exists. After that I can either “Repair” the installation through the “Programs and Features” control panel section, or re-download and run a new install of the latest version, and then it works fine. Again, for a few days until it stops again. I have a suspicion that it may be related to automatically trying to update the server, but I have no way of finding out one way or the other.
Potentially relevant: I have a script set to restart the computer plex is installed on every 24 hours, and plex runs automatically at startup, to try to avoid this issue, and sometimes it works for a few weeks, but more often just a few days.
The player version is marked N/A because it doesn’t matter what player/device I try to use if the server itself isn’t running.
