I have repaired my installation several times. I have also uninstalled, rebooted and then re-installed Plex Media Server and again rebooted my system. I have tried both the public versions and the beta versions to see if the file gets added back into the folder. I have even gone as far as renaming the C:/Program Files (x86)/Plex to “Plex old” and then installing PMS again. The result is that there is no new Plex folder made in the Program Files (x86) folder.
I can’t figure out why the file is missing and why it won’t come back when I install PMS again. Of note, before I was encountering this issue, Plex was not automatically adding new media to my library. I then clicked the link in the library view to download the newest version. It then proceeded to show the download start, restart, progress and restart, again and again. I then rebooted and started to troubleshoot it. At this point it seems that the whole installation is messed up. Also of note, every time I’ve tried to install PMS, it will complete the installation and show the “Launch” button. I click it, and nothing happens. Every time I’ve tried to install it the launch button does nothing and the window never goes away. Please help.
Here are the two files I’ve been using.
Plex-Media-Server-1.1.4.2757-24ffd60-en-US
Plex-Media-Server-1.2.3.2914-1ff0f18

AVG appear to be trusting the new certificate now - so there is no need for this amendment to the AVG Settings anymore
