From what it looks like in the downloads section on the Plex page, my media server version looks to be really far behind what’s currently available.
Since I can’t make it update on My Cloud Home, and I don’t know who between WD and Plex makes it happen, I’ve been reaching out to both groups. When was the last time PMS was updated on My Cloud Home and is it going to be brought up to current any time soon?
WD says to reach out to Plex, I don’t 100% believe them, but I’m covering my bases.
I can’t play anything on my Android device, so I checked Plex version in My Cloud Home settings. It was last updated on Feb 2020.
WD My Cloud Home is not even a proper NAS.
I also contacted WD support, they said that Plex is a third party service, and asked me to contact Plex, so I checked Plex Forum.
Obviously it was clearly written in documentation that WD has to provide Plex updates, which they are not doing.
Now we don’t have any choice!!
Still no update or even communication from the Plex team about updating the server version. Just checked today and it looks like they are on 1.24. That is a HUGE discrepancy in versions.
