Hi, I recently bought a mycloud home 3tb to use with plex. Everything has been great thus far. I got an email from Plex to update my server to 1.8.4.2171 for the latest update. With this update will continue to get artwork.
But I don’t know how to update my plex server on mycloud home. Any idea?

How do I update Plex Media Server versions?
Unlike a regular Plex Media Server you might run on a computer or NAS device, you can’t arbitrarily update the server version. Instead, new Plex Media Server updates will be delivered by Western Digital in the control panel of the My Cloud Home.
it says I need to wait until western digital releases the update on their end but if that does not happen by Jan 31st I wont be able to get artwork or would i not be affected
It will only impact you when you add new media to a tv-show library.
i’ll will be affected then as I am adding new stuff daily to the tv-show library. Is it possible in the mean time to add my own artwork if i do not receive the update by that time?
absolutely… the impact is only on automatic poster downloads when matching a new episode/season/show.
thanks, i’ll look into on how to do it. Hopefully, I wont need to if WD releases the update. Such a pain. Would have went with another NAS in my price range if I had known about this.
Download the last version from here: https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/ and go to “install manually”.
which one do I download? Under Western Digital My Cloud Home is not listed

ya they support plex but still has not released the latest update to which plex will no longer support art work unless you update. so hopefully WD will release their update for it before Jan 31st
