Hey Guys - I am at my wits end with this one, I’ve done everything I know how to do.
A friend of mine hosts a media server via Plex. I connected to it maybe a year ago from my various devices and everything was great! About 2-3 months ago, all of a sudden the server refuses to connect to my Samsung KS8000 TV or my PS4 Pro - I get an error message that just reads that the server is “offline or unavailable”. However, it continues to connect and work from my iPhone 10 and my PC without any problem at all. For reference, my PS4 is hardwired on the ethernet, my iPhone & TV are both on wifi. All other apps on my TV & PS4 work fine, such as Netflix, Apple+, Disney, Hulu, Prime, etc. It’s only the connection to the server on Plex.
Steps I’ve tried so far:
*Deleting the apps and reinstalling them
*Removing my TV and PS4 as authorized devices from my Plex account on the web and then re-signing in
*Had my friend remove me from the server and re-add /re-invite me, to no avail.
*Hard reset of my TV (unplugged and replugged)
*Triple checked that there are no updates for the app on my TV or PS4
I tried posting this on the Plex forums and didn’t get much traction. What makes me the most confused is that I connect to the server from my iPhone without a problem, but not the other two devices. It would be one thing if all 3 didn’t work, but having 1 of the 3 devices work and the others not makes this even harder to properly troubleshoot.
Anybody ever run into this? Are there any steps I’m missing here? Looking for any guidance!
