All of a sudden, many 4k and 1080p media no longer play. Newly added videos and ones I have previously watched now just give me the infinite spinning icon. This only seems to occur when playing through 2 different LG TV Plex Apps (LG C2 and LG CX) and my Nvidia Shield Pro. Oddly, if I try to play any files on Plex app for my mobile device (Galaxy 25 Ultra), all movies play fine without any issue. Even the ones that won’t play on my TVs. And, they will even play whether I’m connected to WiFi or on cellular data only. So remote access is definitely working.
I’m streaming everything from a desktop Win 11 PC. I have several HDDs with media and my router is connected by ethernet to all devices currently. I saw a suggestion to delete the codecs folder, didn’t help. I reinstalled Plex Server on my Win 11 PC, no help. I’ve tried hotspotting my TVs to my phone, no luck. I tried opening a video that my TV won’t play, then screencasting to my TV. The file stops playing immediately.
This problem only occurred within the last few weeks. I’ve been trying to determine is there’s any pattern to the files that wont play but I’ve been unable to identify one so far. But oddly, the last 5 or 6 movies I added won’t play at all and it just spins.
Remote access is 100% working. I’ve tried connecting the TVs to both wifi or ethernet and no change. I also have HDR enabled in Plex and direct play on. I’ve tried to toggle it on and off, no changes. DNLA is enabled now, no change.
I have upgraded my router recently, but these issues existed prior to my upgrade.
I tried to download the logs but no idea what to look for. Some errors I found were:
