Memory leak in server? High memory usage continually grows

Server Version#:1.41.6.9606-aa6577194
Mac OS 15.4 on Mac Studio

Hi, I’m getting large memory usage by Plex server which grows the longer I leave it running. Today it got up to 26.6GB in memory usage and it’s not streaming or doing any conversions. The only way to get the memory usage down is to quit the server and restart it. :frowning:

I would definitely recommend for you to use ChuckPa Database Repair Utility. Your Plex server will run silk smooth like my Mac Mini M4 pro.

@ChuckPa

As first steps.

  1. “Auto” for the DB.
  2. “Prune” to clean up all the temp files floating around
It will tell you how many it finds before removing them.

Also, ensure you have the DLNA server disabled:
Settings → [Select Server Name] → DLNA → Enable the DLNA server (uncheck)

You may need to restart Plex Media Server if you disable it for the change to take effect.

The DLNA server had a known memory leak; I’m not sure it has ever been tracked down and fixed.

I believe that is still an issue, totally forgot. Thanks @pshanew

That is correct.

  1. The DLNA server still leaks memory
  2. The source was never identified
  3. The DLNA server is off by default.

Thanks everyone, I have run the ChuckPa Database Repair Utility as suggested and will see how it goes. I have also checked the DLNA server and it is off.

Lets see if your server now behaves, if not drop a line.
