Whenever I navigate and play a video file by viewing "By Folder", after the video stops the menu navigation becomes out of sync and I get the "Trailers is unavailable. Try again later" error message.  I have to go back to the top level menus to get the menu selections back in sync.  This is a recent problem in the past couple months, as this used to work ok.  And I don't view "By Folder" very often so I don't experience it much.

 

Playing videos from "On Deck" and "All Videos" works just fine, after the video stops the selection menu returns to the last position and you can navigate from there with no issues.

See my signature for how to report an issue so we can see about tracking this down, make sure you just create a "High" log that only captures the actual issue.

Also can you clarify by what you mean by out of synch?

Also what would be really helpful, if the issue is reproducible all the time, is if you could find the commit that introduced the issue; the easiest way is to jump back by say 20 commits and if it didn't exist then try 10 commit ago, etc so that it is very quick to find the exact code changes that caused it (this means we can definitely find and fix it).

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version:  ATV 3, Firmware 7.0.1 (6912)

  • Using iMovie Theater Channel highjack for PlexConnect

  • The PlexConnect version number: Since I am using Firmware 7.0.1 and iMovie Theater Channel, any commits prior to Sept 21 do not work at all.  Any commits after that have my issue.

  • A detailed description of the issue: If browsing the menus "By Folder", after playing a video file, the menu navigation gets out of sync (selecting anything gives an error) and I have to exit back to the top level PlexConnect menu to restore normal operations.

I Attached a PlexConnect Log file with the issue.

Providing the rest of my configuration details:

  • The DNS server set on the ATV:  192.168.1.222

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on:  192.168.1.222

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: unRaid system, 6.0-beta6

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: unRaid system, 6.0-beta6

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'):  0.9.11.1

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:  192.168.1.222

  • The PlexConnect version number: commit bcb43313bb1cd21529a434c0b60ff283408fa595  Nov 28, 2014

The issue is the following:

- before playing the video

14:44:14 ATVLogger: loadURL (override): http://www.icloud.com/PMS(192.168.1.222)/library/sections/27/folder?parent=5910&PlexConnect=HomeVideoByFolder

- after playing the video

See the missing "PlexConnect=...".

Does the issue only happen in "HomeVideos"?

Hm. Crunching through the templates it also seems to happen to MoviesByFolder...

Could you try with the one attached - should fix the issue for HomeVideos.

Baa, the updated HomeVideoByFolder.xml template fixed it for the Home Videos!

And yes, the problem also occurs in Movies by Folder.

Pulled latest update from github and it is all working now!
