Meta data refresh for library (how to tell when it is done)

I have started a “refresh meta data” on a very large movie library, however i can not tell if it is still updating or not. Two things make me think the scan may be still on going:

  1. it seems that after letting it sit over night that many of my movies have more and updated meta data
  2. if i try to run a refresh meta data for a single item, it appears to do nothing (no spinning on movie poster etc.)

my question is how to know if the “refresh meta data” is done, or did the just quit?

You can keep an eye on Settings > [Server Name] > Status > Alerts. That’s kind of the “log” for the alerts the metadata update will show in the Activities popup (and some more).
If you want to know it in hard facts, you’ll probably need to dig into the Plex Media Server logs.

It has finished (most of two days), as i now can do individual movies (“refresh meta data”)
i will take a look at that for future reference
