So I recently started to use plex and i’m already perplexed.
I know that plex can read .nfo files for movies and series.
I also know that it can read internal metadata from music-files.
But, what about metadata from the artists.
I updated somewhat in Plex itself and I had to re-do some things after an update.
So I was wondering if it’s possible to create files, that plex can read.
With thing like Biography, genres, country, collections, related artists, poster files.

Plex has no support for .nfo files in music. Even in Movie libraries, all Plex will get from a .nfo is an IMDB tt number.
There are a couple of feature requests to add .nfo support. This one has the most votes. You may want to add your vote.
That’s because the one you linked is talking about .nfo support for movies, while mine post was about the sidecar files for music libraries to add artists bios and album reviews. It has less votes, because plex for music libraries is a niche market, not many are using it this way, while almost everybody is using the movie libraries
@beckfield @d1chter Thank you very much for the feedback! I voted for both posts! I have some more ideas on how Plex can make it’s music-part a lot better, but I’ve got to sit down and take some time for that. Probably do that once I finished importing my music
