Metadata for TV Shows not downloading

Server Version#: Version 1.21.1.3876
Player Version#: Version 4.47.3

installed a new Synology DS920+ and copied all data from old Synology to new one and have Plex setup and installed, created libraries, etc… all data copied over successful but when creating the TV Shows library and after it scans everything, the metadata is not downloading. Out of about 390 TV Shows, only about 25 of them downloaded the cover art, etc… Never had this issue on the old Synology box . verified settings are same on both boxes. Any assistance is appreciated.

Updated 1/12/21:
downloaded FileBot and went through and changed all filenames for every show to match TVDB and deleted and re-added library to refresh all shows again but it does the same thing. It’s only showing correct show name. posters and descriptions are not being downloaded. Verified agent settings are the same on both servers so I have 2 servers on same network, both configured identical but the new one is not downloading everything correctly for some reason. The only difference is the old one is on DS918+ with RAID0 and new one is on DS920+ with RAID5

There is something odd going on with TV Show matching at the moment.

There are quite a few threads about it already, but not seeing much in the way of feedback from Plex about it at the moment.

The short term fix is to use fix match and use the TVDB id number
(But that will be real pain for the number of unmatched shows you have)

As a test I just set up a new PMS and added 3 shows with dummy media files.

TV
  24
    Season 01
      24 - s01e01.mkv
  Game of Thrones
    Season 01
      Game of Thrones - s01e01.mkv
  Mr. Robot
    Season 01
      Mr. Robot - s01e01.mkv

Scanned the Library and only got metadata and posters for 24

Just used the TVDB id number for 5 folders as a test and out of those 5, only the TV show 24 retrieved the posters and metadata. The other 4 shows still have no posters or metadata…

just downloaded the new preview PMS 1.21.2 version on the new server as a test and created a new library. (see below URL for instructions)

so far since the scan has started it has downloaded all metadata and posters correctly so this seems to be working although this is just a preview version.

Yep, I would kind of expect that version to work as that is probably where the Plex resources are being spent.

The concern (to me) is why the current Scanner is currently having so many issues.

I am wondering if development of the new scanner has had some unexpected impact on the existing scanner, possibly some back end changes. (But that is just me guessing)

After it finished scanning using the PMS preview version, out of 390 shows, only 14 didn’t download posters and metadata…

Just saying I’m having the same issue. Manually matching fixes a lot of shows but not all. Better Call Saul e.g. can’t be located. ANNOYING!

Just added an spisode of Better Call Saul to my test server.

Scan did not match, as expected.
Match just brings up Better Call Saul: Employee Training

If if try to match using the id 273181 instead then it does find it.

I have it named as so:

TV
  Better Call Saul
    Season 01
      Better Call Saul - s01e01.mkv

I recently upgraded the storage to my Plex Server, so i’m working on copying things back over to it, and no shows get scanned in. I have to manually match everthing. Hope this gets the attention it needs. It’s getting annoying.

Where do I input the TVDB id number for a series? I didn’t see this in the tags area of the edit screen

Do a Match or Fix Match at the top level of the show

and then click Search Options and replace the title with the id:

I hope they fix this soon. My son reset my Shield to default and when I setup the Plex Server again and directed it to the same folder that previously worked for my TV Shows it only matched 2 out of 16.
