Metadata is updating but no posters

Hi, I am experiencing a strange behavior with my server.
some TV Shows and movies are showing a blank poster, either the TV show and season poster.
If I update the metadata, all the casts lists, description, all the info is retrieved from the web, except the poster, even if I try to select a psoter manually, the list of posters and backgrounds is empty.

this started to happend some point this week, nothing of my media has changed, they are the same files, named exactly the same for the last 4 years.

I tried some workarounds found on other threads but no luck (disabling IPv6, clear caches as mentioned on https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967376-clearing-plugin-channel-agent-http-caches/)

I also deleted the library and created again using the same files, by doing that all the posters showed up, but only on the frontend, if I try to select another poster image or background, the list only shows a kind of random image, but not the one is showed on the library list.

Does anyone having the same issue? Any help will be really appreciated

Seeing a number of errors like [HttpClient] HTTP error requesting GET https://plex.tv/api/v2/user?includeSubscriptions=1&includeProviders=1 (6, Couldn't resolve host name) (Could not resolve host: plex.tv)

Also seeing errors like [0x7f31c2bb1b38] ERROR - Error creating directory "/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Metadata/TV Shows/1/33cf54c531180ba6d0981e2d69f40a1f4663b79.bundle/Contents/_combined/posters": Permission denied

Thanks @dbirch! you are a lifesaver, thanks to your comments I checkes and realized that somehow folders “Media” and “Metadata” moved to group root.
I changed them back to plex:plex, and now metadata and posters are working again.

I would like to know which log file did you check to find those error messages? there are a lot…

Typically Ill start with the Plex Media Server.log or one of the 5 older versions of that log. I Look for the key words WARN or ERROR and see if they pertain to the issue at hand.
