Metadata Not Downloading For Movies

Past 2 days or so my metadata has not been downloading for movies. TV shows are working fine. I have tried changing around agents to see if it helps but so far nothing seems to work. Some pro advice would be appropriated. Seem like the main error i am getting is

(content type ‘image/jpeg’ not cacheable in Agent plug-ins)

Here is my plex imdb log.

Quick update. Deleted system.bundle and framework.bundle per an older suggestion. Made it so i couldn’t get into my server settings. Downloaded lastest plex pass version and did a repair install. It fixed the accessing system settings problem. Still no love on downloading any metadata for any new movie. Losing my mind. Hours lost. I’ve been scanning forums looking for someone having the same issue as me. No love. All hope lost. Feel alone. Very alone.

What are the movies. Give a quick list of them(the exact file name plus extension you use)

I am getting the same exact error on my server. Unable to load meta or pull posters for new titles.
Error: (content type ‘image/jpeg’ not cacheable in Agent plug-ins)

Examples…
Folder
Ghost in the Shell (2017)
Filename:
Ghost in the Shell (2017).mp4

Folder
War Dogs (2016)
Filename:
War Dogs (2016).mp4

Are you sure your files don’t have any embedded metadata that might be causing the issue.

Here’s the how to on deleting metadata on Windows.

The new files have no existing meta in them.

  • Went ahead and did the procedure you had in the link anyways.
  • Restarted Plex. No change. I just get a random screen image from the movie as the poster and nothing else comes down.
  • I also have the Anti-Virus disabled as the moment.

Sorry but you will have to do the Plex Dance on the files.

Well none of that worked. Even uninstalled PLEX and renamed my Plex folder in AppData. Meta just not updating.

Then I read in another thread about turning off IPV6 and everything starting working again.
Turned it off within Plex and removed it from the network adapter.

How aggravating that was. :s Now it will take hours to reload my libraries but at least its working again.

I suggest you review the FAQ entries for configuration of the Plex Server. IPV6 is brought up in there - you may have missed other things that might cause issues in the future.

Well, I have been having exactly the same problem for past couple of weeks, and I have never had IPV6 turned on. TV Shows are also not updating the metadata. If I fight with each file individually and wait a REALLY long time I can eventually get them to populate but for the most part no. They are matched, they just aren’t updating and it seems to have started with the last update as I’ve had plex for years and never had this issue.

Maybe some of you plex people can look at my logs and tell me what’s changed. The only thing I changed was I updated the PMS and now metadata is either not downloading or taking forever.

I’m going to ‘third’ this.
I never touch my Plex. Seriously, it’s been running like 0.9.1 for years now. Never a problem.
I’ve never had IPV6 turned on, and my movie posters stopped downloading. It fetches the metadata. So, it can tell me what year the film was, who was in it, what genre it belongs to etc… but no posters.

I can download the IMDB picture and slap that on by hand. But I figured I’d bite the bullet and update.
Did that - still no posters.

hi,
i have the same problem here.
running plex a Long time and never had probs with updating the metadata. now it takes veeeerrrryyyy long or nothing happens but it is trying.

Is this problem been solved any how by someone?

Same here, never an issue before. TV show metadata is still running fine. Seems to be a bug in the system, only started happening after the last update.

Update: So after some research I disabled IPV6 and metadata now works. go figure.

I had similar issues to what’s described on this thread. If I tried to refresh metadata, it would spin but nothing would happen. If I tried to manually “match” the movie, nothing would be found. I tried just about everything and what ended up working for me was clearing my cache.

Specifically, I moved “com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb” from the cache directory and restarted my Plex server and #BAM all started working again. Once I confirmed all was good, I deleted the original cache folder.
