Metadata Provider Bug with 1.32.6.7468? TheTVDB ignored for TheMovieDB?

Server Version#: 1..32.6.7468

Looks like there may be a bug here where TheTVDB metadata is ignored in favor of TheMovieDB, even with the library setting for Episode Order set to TheTVDB and the series level manually set to TheTVDB Air Order.

I’ve got a series that I refreshed metadata for to add some TV extras, and the I noticed that it tossed the TheTVDB order for “Specials” season and replaced with TheMovieDB metadata, which has different content for the specials vs TheTVDB.

Images below:

The selector is labeled with "Episode ordering". And that is all it does.
It does not select from where the metadata are fetched.

Fair point. This would mean then that this version of server is then not following the “Episode Ordering” setting. It’s only following the TheMovieDB ordering and not the TheTVDB Airdate Ordering, despite what is set in the library and at the show level.

  • Episode Ordering: How episodes are named on disk. If your naming follows The MovieDB or TheTVDB choose that here.

The episode order for “seasons” is different between TheMovieDB and TheTVDB for Supernatural. TheMovieDB has DVD bonus features listed as part of the Specials season where TheTVDB does not.

TheMovieDB: Supernatural: Season 0 — The Movie Database (TMDB)
TheTVDB: https://thetvdb.com/series/supernatural/seasons/official/0

The TVDB IDs on The Movie Database are linked to the wrong episodes. That’s why there’s a mixup.

4917402 is “A Very Special Supernatural”.

I corrected the TVDB IDs for both episodes so it should be fixed in Plex within 72 hours.

Thanks SwiftPanda16. Looks like someone put a bunch of DVD extras into TheMovieDB “Specials” season which caused the difference between TheTVDB and TheMovieDB episode orders. I see the correct you made has populated into the Plex Metadata agent, so all good.

Appreciated!
