Yes. If the server has detected that
the folder wherein the video file is stored was modified since the last time it was accessed by Plex,
it will look for potentially modified or added external subtitles.
If you want to minimize this, you need to avoid modifying the folders of already existing media files.
Most important is to follow the recommended folder organization practises for storing media: https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/your-media/
Store every movie in its own dedicated subfolder. i.e. do not throw all movie files into a common /Movies folder.
That way a newly added movie doesn’t cause the whole /Movies folder to get marked as “modified”, but only the newly added subfolder of that movie.
You also want to avoid that other software is modifying the media folders in any way. (for instance when other media libraries or players are storing small files with their own metadata beside your media).
But is this new? I have changed nothing and have now that behaviour? The Folders or Files are not changed.
EDIT: Looks like this Problem is on my side. I think the problem is my rclone config.
