All other seasons other than Season 6 shows up as Episode 1 and so on, tried everything to get the episode names etc
By default, Plex uses the episode numbering from TMDB, not TVDB. TMDB appears to split out the 1999-2006 run of the show as one series, and the later 2017-2024 run as a separate series. Thus, matching your collection against the 1999 version will only have series data for the first 5 seasons. TVDB has one combined entry, as you already noticed.
You can change your show to use TVDB episode ordering on a show level, or the entire library at once:
-To change it for a show, click the pencil icon on the show level, click Advanced, then change *Episode Ordering from Library Default to TheTVDB (Aired).
-To change it for the entire library, Click on Manage Library > Edit > Avanced, and change the same drop down. This sets the Library Default to all shows in the library to this setting.
Thanks, I have already done that but only Season 6 is not showing the show names etc
Arg. Wonder if this is one of those Plex metadata issue shows like “Monsters” on Netflix.
*searches*
Ah, yep. Plex itself split the show in half as well (1999, 2017), meaning you will probably have to split your show as well. I do not know how to see which shows are linked on plex.tv, but if one of them points to the TVDB for their show, then using the TVDB (aired) ought to work…
Which show are you matched against in your metadata? Try to match against the other show, and use TVBD.
I’ve used the Media Center Master TV Scanner scanner and it all shows up now, don’t know if that was a good choice?
