Episode Ordering / Naming Incorrect

Hi,

Server Version#: 1.40.2.8395
Player Version#: N/A

TV Show: Mayday
Season#: 9
Episodes: “Alarming Silence” and “Pilot vs. Plane”

On Wikipedia and TVDB - “Alarming Silence” is number 2 and “Pilot vs. Plane” is number 3.
(Mayday - Alarming Silence (Cockpit Chaos) Northwest Airlines Flight 255 - TheTVDB.com)

On TMDB - These two are reversed - “Alarming Silence” is number 3 and “Pilot vs. Plane” is number 2.
(Mayday: Season 9 (2010) — The Movie Database (TMDB))

I have my data files numbered and named in TVDB order:
…/Mayday/Season 09/Mayday - s09e02 - Alarming Silence (Cockpit Chaos) Northwest Airlines Flight 255.webm
…/Mayday/Season 09/Mayday - s09e03 - Pilot vs. Plane (Air France Flight 296).webm

My Libary (under Advanced) has these settings:
Scanner: Plex TV Series
Agent: Plex Series
Episode Ordering: TheTVDB

The TV Show within the Library (under Advanced) is using all Library Defaults.

When I view the season within Plex, the two episodes are named in TMDB order.
When I click on each one and chose ‘Get Info’, it returns the files names in TVDB order.
When I play the two episodes, they play in TVDB order.
Basically, the raw filename and content are correct, but the title (name) displayed is incorrect.

What can be done to make the title match the content and raw filename?

Thanks.

You can pick the ordering at the show level, in addition to the library level.

  1. Edit the show :pencil2: (not the season or episode)
  2. Advanced
  3. Episode Ordering = Library Default; TMDB (Aired); TVDB (Aired / DVD / Absolute).
  4. Save changes.
  5. Refresh show metadata.

I read what you have wrote, but I’m failing to understand how this would resolve the issue, when the library itself is already set to TVDB for Episode Ordering.

Regardless, I have tested all five Episode Ordering options, in the manner you specified. None of these options resolve the issue.

To me, it seems as if Plex itself is still pulling TMDB data even though the library and/or show are set to TVDB.

Yeah, Plex is not pulling the correct information. I’m seeing the same thing on my system.
Something must be amiss in their systems. I’ll send a message to the metadata folks.

Are these the only two episodes displayed incorrectly?

As a workaround, you could swap episodes 2 and 3 and use the TMDB order.

Thank you for the confirmation.

Yes, as far as I can tell, these are the only two episodes for this show that are incorrect. I have not imported past Season 9 yet.

If you notice any others, post them to the thread, so the metadata team will know about it.

It usually takes a few days to straighten things out. I’ll update the thread when I hear something.
