Metadata: Similar Artists tags, where does plex gather this data from?

Where does plex scrap the Similar Artists tags in relation to music media ? Basically this tag which is found at the artist level …

I have a number artists which either have no similar artists or very few and would like to see if I can influence this to get better / more data.

I was told Tivo Music Metadata which get some of their data from Allmusic. Unfortunately I don’t think tivo has an end user searchable site and All Music should be be used for that. ( though it might not completely match up)

Just to add to this, I think it gets better similar artist data from last.fm actually and mainly gets styles & moods from allmusic - I try to make sure all my artists have links on musicbrainz to last.fm & allmusic

Some of my artists are not on allmusic though, so no idea how to fix that!
