This post has partly been triggered by an r/plexamp comment from simonXCIV suggesting similar artists is not pulled from last.fm but Allmusic. This however doesn’t match my experience - the majority of my similar artist tags are 100% matched to at least the first two pages of last.FM as long as there is a link on the musicbrainz database, but fallback to allmusic if there is no last.fm link
I have a few bands that don’t pull any similar artists metadata from Last.fm, despite them having associated links in the musicbrainz database. I have tried deleting and re-adding these artists, as well as creating a fresh library, but they just refuse to pull in the last.fm metadata. Is there anything that can be done to somehow jump-start the metadata links for the following bands…
In Plex the following bands all have allmusic similar artists, but not any last.fm similar artists even though a last.fm link is present in musicbrainz…
