Just noticed that quite a few, but not all, of the metadata that I have updated on some movies has reverted back to the original data (for example, I have a number of “clean” films that I have changed the rating on from “R” to “Clean”…kids can watch the Clean ones, or series of movies where the sort title shows Indiana Jones 1, Indiana Jones 2, etc). These have reverted back to the way they were when the agents got the data.
Has anyone else seen this?
This has been brought up a few times. Typically it is caused because the movie is not matched, so Plex keeps trying to match it and in certain cases will change the metadata to something else, even if you’ve locked the field. The devs are already looking to better enforce the locked fields.
The fix for now is to match the movie. Once matched (even if it’s to the wrong movie) Plex will not try to match it again and the metadata will not change. If it’s a movie that can’t be matched, then use the manual match feature and change the agent to “Personal Media”. This will also prevent Plex from trying to rematch the movie.
