Metadata won't load automatically

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and safe.

My Plex Server running on a Synology ds218play fails to load automatically the metadata of my freshly imported movies. I have to go to “Refresh metadata” or sometimes (randomly) “Fix Match” to get them. What bothers me the most is that the poster pictures of my new movies are obviously not displayed (a random frame being shown instead).

Before I manually “Refresh metadata” (in some cases) or “Fix match” (in other cases):

What am I doing wrong?

I’d love to help but you turned off DEBUG logging (On by default)
This took away reporting what PMS is actually doing.
It doesn’t save CPU resources nor does it save space. The logs are a fixed size.

When you’ve had the opportunity to

1. Re-enable DEBUG logging,
2. Keep VERBOSE logging OFF
3. Restart PMS
4. Scan files / Refresh Metadata
5. Download the logs again after all is completed,

I’ll be able to look again to see what might be happening but there’re no guarantees as the files have already been seen by Plex for that ‘first time’.

Good morning,

Since im still a noob of the forum i have to “hijack” this thread for some help.

I installed the server spend some days, 2-3 on trying to rename everything (even after adding everything on radarr, so that when media is added it’s renamed), run filebot maybe 3 times until i’m 100% sure nothing is recommended to rename.

I also try to fallow this preparations, that @ChuckPa made :

Re-enable DEBUG logging,
Keep VERBOSE logging OFF
Restart PMS
Scan files / Refresh Metadata
Download the logs again after all is completed,

My question is why is this movie (yes I an at the limite of 1 movie) isn’t add to the library?

Thank you, and after searching this forum, and others, I “know for a fact” that all the awnsers go to "RTFM on how to rename movies for plex), however i know for a fact that this movie can be added to plex without any modification because i have send it to a friend for him to try and he had 0 problems with it.

Thank you for your time, and once more i’m sorry for this (non) topic hijacking.

PS: I have added and removed the server multiple times (>10), removed all files, installed the package from Synology and tried every update the start of this month (3) and right now i’m on the latest version.

I’m sorry but i haven’t made any adicional steps to change the certificate, so my question is how can i change this, or what can i do?

(removing and adding isn’t an option since i made that several times

PS: I do get a warning from kasperky when I opened the page the first time after instalation

Ok, so i have done that, also disable kaspersky and i saw two new files beeing generated: ca.crt and certificate.p12

I made the step 4 and 5:

• Scan files / Refresh Metadata
• Download the logs again after all is completed,

Nothing changes but it was before you wrote so i notice i shell wait a few minutes before opening plex.

So lets wait, never the less thank you very much @trumpy81at least you could point me to a cause for this.

This all began because only half my media apear.

In the time I wait, setting up a new folder for Movies.

The only symptom i have is the files aren’t added to the library:
I have search for the error string you have stated earlier:

 (SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate)

What error do you get and where does the error appear?
R: No error apear: like i said the only symptom is the empty (new folder) library

I am still seeing the same certificate error.
R:Yes: I’m still getting tha same kaspersky error on the first acess

Did you try to attach a Gravatar at all?

I have make sure that it has, R/O permissions, also trying just before writting with R/W and, refresh both lib and metadata end still no item apears

Between all testing and moving the Subfolders permissions got “lost” as in never changed.

Now shell i worry about the certificate?

Moving my media out of the default video folder was the solution.
