I have been able to backup and restore the Plex database on Microsoft Windows based Plex servers successfully for years using PowerShell scripts. Now, I have decided to add a Nvidia Shield to my network and wish to export all of the “collections” and “playlist” already created on a PC based plex server to the new Nvidia shield. Is it possible to programmably transfer the entire plex database, or at least the relevant portion of it, from PC to Shield? Thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses.
IMHO: For an average computer user it is almost impossible.
Question: do you want to keep the PC as Plex server? If so, why not just using the Shield as a Plex client? It can access the PC just fine and play quite a few file formats without the need to transcode.
