I am going to be migrating my Plex server from a Windows PC to a Mac. I have about 100 DVR recordings that were recorded by Plex in " .ts " format. My question is, if I copy all of the DVR recordings onto my Mac will the new Plex server on the Mac recognize these shows in this file format?
It will recognize the files, but they won’t get any of the metadata they have now. Because these metadata are usually derived from the EPG of the station where Plex server recorded them from.
Thanks. Will it at least recognize the name of the show and season/episode number? That info is in the actual file name.
If these numbers are following one of the episode orderings that Plex can support, yes. Then you can treat them just like a regular tv show in Plex.
