Server Version#: web version - plex.tv
Player Version# web version - plex.tv
Hi guys, just a heads up!!
Not sure if this issue is also on the PC server version, but on the WEB version using app.plex.tv, I discovered that when making playlists, if you accidentally click on “add to,” whatever (without selecting anything) it appears our entire library is placed in a single a playlist. I did this by accident. Would it be too much trouble to add some sort of alert like “nothing selected?” Or perhaps an “are you sure alert?” With a preview of what you’re music you’re about to place in the playlist? When playing around and trying to learn how to use playlists, I can see how other people can accidentally do the same thing.
Also Feature Request::: PLEASE, PLEASE, add a feature for desktop/web that allows us to easily see which items are already sync’d to mobile? It’s really difficult to going back and forth. I don’t want to spend time resync’n’ something that’s already on my android.
That’s not what I’m talking about. You see where the arrows are pointing? That’s what I want to see on PLEX server. I want to easily identify what’s on my mobile so that I’m not resyncing something twice. I don’t understand what’s taking so long to add this. Don’t you think this feature is important? If you don’t then I guess none of you have a massive music collection. Also, just to be sure, please reread my prior statement about the playlists just to make sure we’re on the same page.
I suppose it’s easier to show what items have been downloaded on a device than showing what items have been downloaded to some device (e.g. if you have multiple devices as sync targets). Also not sure if users want that info visible on all other apps they might be using not only to manage the server but to play their media. That being said… I see your point.
Just did some tests… interestingly Plex does not actually re-download the same movie if it had already been synced before. However it’ll still add another entry of that item to the sync list (showing in the link I shared above and when managing the synced items on your phone) – no duplicate entries in the offline library.
I don’t care about the movies. We don’t look at movies the way we listen to music. Second, it’s not about duplicates (for the second time), it’s about quickly identifying what I already have on my phone, so that I can quickly CTRL-Click music I want to sync. It is far easier to sync using your PC than doing it from the mobile. Don’t you guys have testers? How come you’re not aware of this?
