Mismatched TV episode

Episode 9 of High Potential Season 2 has wrong metadata. It seems to be correct on TVDB, so where is this metadata fetched from and why is it wrong?

Sorry if this is in wrong category.

The default episode ordering in Plex is coming from TheMovieDB.
If your files match the one of TheTVDB better, edit the show and set the “Episode Ordering” accordingly (on the Advanced tab).

TheTVDB ordering can also be made the library default, by editing the library itself.

Thanks for the reply Otto.

If I understand correctly, the library metadata comes from TheMovieDB regardless of what ordering I set in my library settings? I mean, it is not an ordering issue, it’s more about metadata.

The filename is high.potential.s02e09.mkv and on TheMovieDB (as with TVDB) the episode is named Under the Rug. Yet the metadata fetched for this file is for episode 10 (Grounded). This is the only episode that is wonky. Every other episode has been correct.

In my library settings I have TheTVDB as source for Episode ordering.

The order is fine, the metadata is not.

I have tried moving the file, Empty Trash, and put it back, but it still fetches the data for episode 10 instead of 9.

This season is currently airing. It looks like a transitional error.
Either a pre-mature entry was different from what was actually aired,
or a contributor made an honest mistake and this was corrected since then.
https://watch.plex.tv/en/show/high-potential-1/season/2
has already the correct episode title.
(this is fed from the same data source as the Plex media server modern agent. I recommend you to use it to confirm metadata errors.)

So, I’d wait another day or so, then Refresh Metadata of the show.

The external ids linking tmdb to imdb are incorrect for this show for episodes 2x9 and 2x10 which might be messing things up.

They are locked by a mod so I’ll create a report to have it fixed.

I’ll try refreshing in a couple of days. Thanks!
