Hi, I’ve just added a series to my library. The library default for episode ordering is TheTVDB but this series has had its episode info pulled from TMDB. How can I fix this without manually changing all the episode info myself? In the screenshots you can see that the info in my Plex matches TMDB. Not only that, TMDB has the correct episode titles for E04-05 but the wrong episode info (they are around the wrong way).
On the library page you can click the little pencil edit button on the poster for the show. In the advanced section you will see an option for episode ordering. From there change it to the order you want to use and refresh metadata.
Thanks Blkbyrd, sorry, I should have mentioned in my post that I’ve already tried that and it didn’t make any difference. But even if it did, it still doesn’t explain why the metadata is wrong in the first place. Maybe I have lots of shows like that and I only happened to notice this particular one. It’s all good, I’ll just change the episodes myself
In these cases you can either create an account and fix the data yourself or if the data is locked (as it is in this case) you will have to report it on the TMDB forums in the Content Issues section: TMDb Talk — The Movie Database (TMDB)
Thanksdrzoidberg33, I realise that but I don’t want to fix the info at TMDB. I want to know why TheTVDB isn’t being used in the first place? My episode ordering is set to that and it’s first, where possible, in my agents for shows. Is there something else I need to change or do I not have any control over where the metadata is pulled form?
We don’t use a single source for our data. We have one “Plex” version of it but that data can come from multiple sources, in this case summaries for episodes are being used from TMDB. It’s possible summaries can come from TVDB too but it depends on which sources the specific items are available.
Aah, I see, thank you again. I had just assumed that whatever the episode ordering was set to would be the first “source” that the “Plex version” would use. Especially if “the specific items are available” on the source set for episode ordering - in this case, TheTVDB.
