I don’t know if I’m the only one who has noticed this or brought this issue up, but I have recently found something that I believe is an issue that needs to be fix quickly. If you look under the “Live TV & DVR” tab and then under “Shows On Now” section, the “More…” selection is gone. That is a big problem for the apps that have not been updated with the “Guide” feature such as the Xbox one app, the LG Web OS apps or the older Samsung TV apps(all of which I use in my home). Without the “More…” tab under the “Shows On Now” section, there is no way on those apps to see what is showing on the other channels or change the channel in any way. Once again, I’m not sure if there is a few coming for this or if there are updates coming that will add the “Guide” feature or my apps are not updated(all of them are current at the time of this post), both this needs to fixed one way or the other ASAP!!!
It would be my hope that they just put the tab back in future updates, at least until the guide feature is available for all of the apps. Once the guide feature is available in all the apps, the more tab will not be needed, but until then it is very much so needed.
I do have a small update. The most recent Plex Server update added a “Shows on Now” section under the “Live TV” section and there is a “More” selection now for the LG TV app and Xbox app. While the “More” tab returning is a great thing(thank you Plex for paying attention), it may also be a little bit of a step back.
The reason that I say that is because the “Shows on Now” section only allows you to view the TV shows that are currently airing live. The this is if any of the live tv stations are airing a movie of any kind at all, they are excluded all together and there is no way to see what they are airing. Keep in mind that from what I have seen, this does not effect the “Guide” feature in any way for those devices that have it. It is just strange that we took one half step forward when we originally took a step back for the apps that don’t have the “Guide” feature yet. While I am appreciative that something was done, it’s still gonna be looked at like a crappy patch until the “Guide” feature is available for all of the Plex apps. I hope it happens soon.
