I had an notification from plex telling me someone had logged into my account… As advised as I didn’t recognise it I reset password… That’s when the problems start… Even though my server (on a shield appears correct) devices using the plex app have lost all my custom side bar so I can’t excess my content via them…( A general search shows content is still available)…the two sasumg TV in the house are still connected to the server at least… All remote devices and my PC can’t find my server now… I have unistalled and reinstalled on all… At a loss what to do

I’m not really clear what this has to do with remote access. when you say sidebar missing do you mean it is empty or will not open? Can you take a screenshot? You can reset the sidebar in by selecting your user avatar and selecting “Reset customizations” to start from scratch to customize again.
Perhaps you are right with remote excess… It was just had to find and exact category to put it in…
I have tried the reset customizations but the side bars aren’t listed…let me explain…
On my server… I have my movies and TV broken up into say drama, fantasy, comedy etc into serperate side bars that appear on the left hand side on the screen… Whilst all these are seen on the server on the app they aren’t nor are they listed anywhere to
be able to select them to view so I can’t customize again
To further complicate thing… ( and why I put in remote access) if I try to log into my server from outside the home network the server can’t be found at all…
So there are two problems going on here… Server is working and Contact to home TVs just doesn’t show side bars on home devices using plex app…

So to continue and add some background… Up until I changed my pass word everything was working perfectly… The same Unknown IP address again logged into my account later that evening so I changed Pw again and added a Pin number this morning

You seem to keep calling your Libraries, “sidebars” just want to make sure we are on the same page here. The entire area on left is the side bar. The individual items in it, are “libraries” from your server (or “sources” in the case of podcasts, news, etc)
Do you have a MORE option in the side bar where servers are listed in Plex Media Player? (I am assuming we are talking about TV mode.)
Does everything show up correctly in the web app in browser?

Yes sidebars = libraries I have split my TV content it Drams, comedy, docos etc and movies into fantasy , new, family , james bond etc….
On the server all these are listed as libraries on the left hand side. I have all the sources, Tidal, pod cast TV etc and then under More+ my server listed… once I click on the server the individual
libraries appear. The server and all the Plex app on different Devices looked and operated the same and were working correctly only after I changed my password last night only the server remained in that format whilst all the plex App lost all the custom Libraries
apart from two named recently download TV and recently download Movies. The plex App only works within the homes hardwired network. Any remote connection ( phone and Office ) the app can’t find the server at all

Is this Plex Media Player from a computer you have connected to each of those TVs or is it the Plex app from the TV’s app store built into the TV?

My server is on a Nvida shield and played through the TV whilst all the other are APPs… anyway after much head starching we found the problem. Even through we had almost exhausted everything we
could think off. The modem was working fine, it could see all the devices, the server could see all the devices. Un and installs of App on all devices didn’t fix… “”turning everything off and on again ” didn’t help…. Finally we figured it out… in Australia
we are finally getting NBN ( national Broadband network ) or Fibre optic cable connection to all homes and business … every house has been given an NBN box to control this and they sit before the modem in the line up… so we never through it was the culprit
as it didn’t show in any configuration … so a simple turn off and on of the NBN box cleared the problem and everything is fine now… that’s three evening of time I won’t get back again… anyway I hope this will help other Ozzies if they come across this problem
