Now I know this is a strange line to walk but in the old iteration of my Plex setup, I had exactly this.
Some media files were set up with a “Season 1” folder but others are set up like a movie.
However the Library picked up both and just displayed the local meta data content.
Now I can’t figure out how I did this or how I forced Plex to display all. If I choose “TV Series” as the library, it ignores some of the media, although will show it if I select “Folders” under the top filters.
Can anyone point me in the direction of how I may have been able to mix TV movies and TV series together in the same library?
Plex doesn’t support mixing up tv shows and movies in a single library.
If those movies are related to a show, they’re sometimes considered to be specials of that show. Even those need to be properly named/organized as a tv-show episode.
Otherwise you’ll need to split your media in two separate libraries.
Hmm, it’s strange as I somehow configured a Plex Library to accept Stick Man (which isn’t in a S01E01 style of naming) to be shown in the same Library as TV series that we’re named S01E01 style.
There is a way to fudge it but I csnt remember how.
Will report back when I’ve found it.
