MKV File will play on Galaxy 9 but not on LG TV or Windows 10

TV Model#: LG OLED55C9
WebOS#: 4.71.05
QNAP NAS TS 677
ServerVersion#: 1.18.6
Player Version#: 4.23.1
Windows 10 with Edge Browser
Galaxy 9 Android 10 Plex Player 7.27.1.15203

The Plex Media Server and my LG OLED TV work very well. However I have one MKV file that will not play correctly on my TV or from a Web Browser. I just get a green screen. The audio plays fine on all devices. The video plays perfectly on my Galaxy 9. I have attached the logs. The relevant logs are at the bottom dated 16/02/2020 at 14:11 to 14:14.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Use a Plex Player instead of the web browser on your PC.

Thank you. I have installed the Plex player for windows and the MKV file plays properly. However my end goal is to get it to play on my TV. So I still don’t have a solution for that so if anyone can I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

mkv files should play fine on a LG OLED 2019, when trying to play check the servers dashboard to see if it’s trans coding. Dashboard is available via the Activity Icon

Yes it is transcoding but I don’t know why.

What is transcoding, Audio or Video. I guess it’s audio

Audio and video are transcoding. The audio is fine but the video appears as a green screen. I have other MKV files that play fine. Some of them ‘direct play’ and some ‘transcode’ but they all play properly. I don’t understand why sometimes it is transcoding and sometimes direct play.

Ok from your server go to the poster of the file we are discussing, bottom right you will find a vertical ellipsis (⋮) scroll down to info and post the Xml file please

Also make sure you have all your audio codec checked in your LG app settings and in video, Direct Play and Direct Stream are enabled.

How do I save the XML file?

Copy and paste should work, if not copy to a blank text file

Bad post - mod deleted.

You can delete from the ellipsis next to the pencil

Anyway looking at info what type of audio may need to scroll down
