More info on OK

Used Plex RARFlix after the UI update. At some point a few months ago a server update broke Plex RarFlix so went back to the new Plex UI.

Don’t hate it as much as before but its still missing some really good features that RarFlix had.

One that is really driving me nuts is lack of info when the OK button is pressed during playback. Rarflix shows how much time progressed and left among other info. Plex shows very little and the only way to check remaining time is to pause and restart which is really annoying.

Is there any way to add more info to the OK pop up? Especially time left or time passed?

Also would love some kind of easy volume adjustment. I have 4 rokus, and 3 of them I have no remote control of the volume (2 are on HQ amps with no remotes, one is a projector set up with same type amp). The up and down buttons I think are not used during play back now, or if so some other toggle to use them as volume boost/reduction would be greatly appreciated.

I think the down arrow on the Roku remote does what you’re asking for. Down-arrow again to clear the display, without pausing.

I had previously tried all buttons but on your post I retried the down button. The down button has no function in Plex for Roku.

And up is a duplicate function of back.

I just tested using the regular Plex channel and the “Plex Pass” version and:
OK - brings up a progress display with the elapsed time on the right and the remaining time on the right and under remaining time is a display of what time, if no user intervention. the current video will end.
Down - Does exactly what OK does.
UP - Does the same
If, while the progress bar is displayed, you press “Left” and go to the far left of the menu items and press OK a great deal of detail is displayed.

This is on all the modern Rokus but I think the older Rokus are not running the new Plex app.

On all the new Rokus except the Ultra (and maybe the Premier but I think it is only the Ultra that is crippled) pressing the star key while playing brings up the details menu. Roku stole that key on the Ultra so it does not work there.

So to further diagnose we would need to know the exact Roku model you are using.

As mentioned, this info already exist in the new app with the new video player. With that said, it’s possible you may be locked to the old player if you are using a second generation LT or HD (2400, 2450, 2500). These models do not have the memory or horsepower to handle the new player.

They are Roku LTs.

This functionality was available in Plex RarFlix, so why cant Plex do it?

So I have to upgrade 4x Rokus to get the new player and I can’t even run Plex RarFlix anymore?

I understand memory is tight - but the features I’m asking don’t require much and Plex RarFlix did them just fine.
