How about more sources than Plex’s source for matching. Fix matching on “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story 2026” only comes up as “Monster: DAHMER” from 2022. Plex hasn’t upgraded their sources, can’t pick from open source like you used to. What are we doing? If you aren’t going to keep your database updated, you need to open it up to opensource, like you do with subtitles. This shouldn’t be an issue, yet here we are. Still says DAHMER, though it’s an entirely new season and onto another famous “KILLER”. Scroll through the list. Nope, Plex didn’t put in updates for the new season in 2026, too busy coding new features I guess, instead of, oh I dunno, MAKING THE OLD ONES WORK!
It’s a simple thing.
If you’re going to be proprietary, you better come with all of it, because apparently your database for matching files is antiquated and out of date.
I’ve been using your service for years, and though I do like it, AND PAY FOR IT, there are snags, and little frustrating things like *see above.
It’s LITERALLY on Netflix, the most popular streaming platform in the world, yet Plex is somehow blind to the update of the new season. Do better? Maybe? Get yer sh%t together?
Quit messing with the UI, you’re spending too much time putting the list on the top of the screen, and then ooooooo, a few weeks later it’s back to the side like it was in the first place.
Quit screwing around. This isn’t hard. Hell, hire me. I’ll code it for you myself. Just get it done. You’re trying to grow too fast, and getting over excited with yourselves and your “new features” which nobody is really using.
If you’re gonna beat NETFLIX, you’re gonna have to do better than this. It’s still pretty pitiful and slow. I don’t think I’m asking too much.
