Most stable version of PMS? 1.0.0.2261 Sucks

After trying to fix the buffering issues with the latest version (1.0.0.2261), I have gone back a couple different versions but the folks connecting to my server are still complaining of buffering. I’ve gone back to 0.9.16.6.1993 but same issue. Does anyone know what is the last stable build? I am not sure of the archieve link anymore for older versions since the older links now get sent to the “https://www.plex.tv/downloads/” so I’ve been trying to find them off “other” download sites.

I would trust the “other” download sites about as much as I trust emails from princes in Nigeria.

You can, probably, find earlier versions in your Plex directory under a folder called “Updates.”

As far as “stable” goes. I do not find the current version at all unstable but the 9.16 and 9.17 builds all seem to have performed well.

Huh, what? Am I to infer from this, that I should not expect to get my money back?

I find it hard to blame Plex if the only issues being experienced is buffering on remote connections. Have to you properly debugged/tested all the networking bits, as well as ensured all the remote clients are also up to date?

Ich could offer:

plexmediaserver_0.9.12.11.1406-8403350_amd64.deb
plexmediaserver_0.9.12.13.1464-4ccd2ca_amd64.deb

plexmediaserver_0.9.14.4.1556-a10e3c2_amd64.deb
plexmediaserver_0.9.16.0.1754-23623fb_amd64.deb
plexmediaserver_0.9.16.6.1993-5089475_amd64.deb

0.9.16.6 was the last version I had running before I upgraded to 1.0.0 and I have to say 0.9.16.6 was very stable and fine. With 1.0.0 I experienced some issues I couldn’t exactly locate yet.

I have to agree 1.0.0.1 has proven very problematic. The Buffering and Audio sync issues are very frustrating. We do not dare pause a show as it totally throws off the audio sync.

But people say its a network issue? But how odd this was a non issue in prior versions. And the TV as well as the Media server box are both connected to the same gig switch.

I have restarted every component. With the same on going issues. If I could find a copy of 9.16 I would jump back as it was very stable and we had none of these issues.

Thanks for all the responses. It sounds like 9.16.0 works fine so I’ll try that one.

1.0 is based off of 0.9.17 which uses a new transcoder. I think this is why you will see some issues. It will take a few releases to get it good again. I noticed one where one time during movie it will reload the movie and continue. 0.9.16 has no issues at all. This is why I was surprised they made 1.0 official so quick as 0.9.17 was only out for 3 short releases. Transcoder releases need much more beta time.

Anyone have a good link to 0.9.16.0? I have 0.9.16.6 but it seems to have the same issues based on the folks that are logging into my server. I don’t have that version in my “updates” folder.
