I would like to make my admin user a true admin where we do not watch anything from this account, and move my watched list to a regular user account, is there any way to do this? Currently all my watched status are under the admin account.
Hi,
You can move all your data across to another account by locating your metadata folders. I changed my location but normally its under C:\Users\username\Appdata\Local\Plex (I believe this is correct)
Literally copy that whole folder to the same location on the new user account and plex should pick up the data.
Thanks, but that is not what I am trying to do. I will be staying on the same PC using PMS. But I want to change my admin account “AdminUser” to a managed user “User1” but keep the watched status of all movies/shows.
Are you talking about
Plex user accounts or
Windows user accounts?
For the former you need to edit the database. MovieFan’s database edit tool will assist you in this endeavor.
For the latter, @jbac13 's procedure is appropriate.
That is what I wanted, and I was talking about the Plex user account. The link provided said it can “Copy watched status from 1 user to another” and that is what I want! Thanks!!!
Is there another way instead of MovieFan’s database edit tool? - it no longer supports “Copy watched status from 1 user to another”…
There is no official way to do this. My tool was a hack of the database.
