I’ve got to move my [Application Support/Plex Media Server] folder to another drive, because it is 139 GB and eating up too much space on my boot SSD.
I’ve tried symlinks made with Symlinker service and Path Finder’s built-in symbolic link maker, but Plex is not following the links.
Plex Media Server has Full Disk Access.
Here is what I’m doing:
Quit Plex Media Server.
Copy [Application Support/ Plex Media Server ] to new drive using Chronosync with verification.
Rename [Application Support/Plex Media Server] to [Application Support/ Plex Media Server_old ]
Make symlink of the folder on the new drive.
Copy symlink to Application Support folder in old location.
Rename symlink to Plex Media Server in old location.
Restart Plex Media Server.
Plex does launch, but it’s got no content, sort of like a fresh install.
I have also made the symlink with Terminal:
[ln -s /Volumes/LR-CATALOG-R0/Plex\ Media\ Server /Users/xxx/Library/Application\ Support]
with the same results.
Anyone know how to move this folder successfully?
