Hi all,
Hoping this is the right section for this question. Up until recently, I have been running the official “Plex-Media-Server” Docker container on my Unraid machine. This machine has a single graphics card (GTX 1060) used for transcoding (mainly because I have an AMD Ryzen 5900x, so no quicksync). I don’t have the ability to add another GPU due to PCIe slot availability. I do, however, run a Windows 10 gaming VM on this machine. In order to do so, I need to bind a GPU to it, but that means the Plex container won’t run (unless I disable all of this).
So, assuming no one pauses me on what I said above, the plan has been to run the Plex Media Server thru the VM. I am able to get it installed and presumably working; however, I have other users with access and a fair amount of custom settings (plus ~75GB of metadata).
However, when I installed on the Win10 VM, it shows my other setup as offline (makes sense) and didn’t bring over all my custom settings.
Is there a way to just lift and shift everything from one device to the other, ideally keeping the same name? The only instructions I found seemed to be more like for like focused. I did copy the files over to the folder under users, and that may (or may not) have done something, but hoping to not have to go back and manually copy all settings, regrant permissions, and rescan all my media.
Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.
