Move Library to new path without new scan, detecting credits

Short question:
If I move the folder TVSeries from D:\Series to C:\PlexShares\Series will plex then rescan all files in the new path? I ask because this will take days because detecting credits etc …
Im not sure how Plex stores the path of the library items in its database. It is relative to the library folder or is it global?
If it is global: do I have the chance to move the folder and manual edit the file path of all items in de database to avoid the rescanning and new credit detection task …

  1. Backup database first.
  2. Uncheck (turn off) empty trash automatically. VERY IMPORTANT.
  3. Create destination directory.
  4. Add the new path and don’t delete the old path in your library media paths. VERY IMPORTANT.
  5. Move your files to the new directory.
  6. Rescan all libraries.
  7. Make sure you can play your files.
  8. Remove old path.

Watch the log if you want while it’s scanning, it will say “rename detected” or something like that. Remember that very big moves will probably hang your PMS when you’re adding or deleting paths because PMS will automatically optimize the database after big changes. So just be aware and don’t force stop/restart while it’s doing this.

There’s some more detailed guides on how to do this, but that’s the gist of it.
