How do I get the Movie Extras to order alphabetically? For example, if I have under Movie/Deleted Scenes:
Deleted Scene 1
Deleted Scene 2
Deleted Scene 3
In the Plex Player, its ordered as: Deleted Scene 3, Deleted Scene 1, Deleted Scene 2
Yeah, that’s the way they suggest you do it, but I can’t believe that is the intended result. Looks like a bug to me but you’ll have to wait for someone who knows for sure
Yeah, this a known issue that we’re tracking internally
Thanks. Simple sort, “easy as pie” fix.
Lol. I was wondering about something similar although in my case it isn’t that common.
The question in my head is how it decides which trailer to use when I hit the trailer button. For most shows and movies it has the trailer button on by default so it already knows the trailer. But once in a while I’ll encounter a show or movie without trailers on by default and I download 1 or 2 from YouTube. When I download 2 (or a few when they have a lot) in my experience one I really want gets picked up by the button. I just wondered how it would know to pick that one instead of a teaser.
It wasn’t big enough of a puzzle for me to ask here so I assumed that it picked the one with “(Official Trailer)” in the name to use as the main one. The order of the rest didn’t matter to me so I haven’t noted whether or not that order is correct.
For local trailers, I always see it picks the alphabetically first file among all files which have the -trailer suffix.
Thanks. That makes sense. At one point I wondered if it picks the first one I added. But I typically have them named as follows
- Star Trek Discovery (Official Trailer)-trailer.mp4
- Star Trek Discovery Teaser-trailer.mp4
- Star Trek Discovery Trailer 2-trailer.mp4
Given your explanation I see now how the one that I always want as the default one gets selected.
