Maybe this has been already suggested, but I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about consolidating movies by franchise. Wouldn’t it be easy to add an optional ‘franchise’ field to the metadata?

You could use the existing „collection“ field and afterwards filter by collection. As for actually consolidating those movies (also visually), best search for „Collection“ in this forum (sadly that’s a more depressing aspect)
