Movie library

hey there

I am new here. and I have a question. in the past I downloaded my movies from the piratbay but I want to fill up my plex library in a more legal way. is it possible to buy movies in a digital version and store it in the plex server? if yes were can I buy them? ripping blue-ray takes to much time and I don’t have the equipment to do that.

how do you all fill up your library?

No, this is not possible. All movies (legally) sold by download are infected with Digital Rights Management (DRM). Plex doesn’t support these.

so there is no way to legal watch movies on plex? how do you get your media?

DVR them or rip them off DVD or Bluray.

thanks
DVR is not an option for me, can you tel me the proces that you are doing for ripping blue-ray and what equipment do I need? also I have a dolby atmos surround system and a tv with dolby vision and HDR10 support. do you know how to rip 4K HDR blue-ray’s? do I need special equipment?

thanks very much for the fast reply!!!

Sorry, I can’t help you further with this.

See Converting ISO, Video_TS, and Other Disk Image Formats.

The tools that handle ISO images will also handle physical discs.

Start with MakeMKV. It is very easy to rip DVDs & 1080p Blu-ray discs, then import them to Plex.

See MakeMKV’s forum for information about UHD discs and drives.
