This has been ongoing for quite some time for me. I have disabled the trailers on all devices and have been waiting for an update to resolve. Currently running latest server version and latest plex media player version.
If I set PMP to play 2 trailers before each movie, trailers played are marking those movies as watched.
For for example lets say we have 3 movies, movie a, movie b, and movie c…all currently unwatched in plex. AND movie c is not currently in my plex library.
If I go to play movie A and a trailer plays for Movie B and Movie C. Movie B is updated to a watched status. If I then later add Movie C to my library it is added to the library in a watched state, which is not possible as it was just added to plex.
Would really like to get this figured out. What/where should I look or what information is needed to get to the bottom of this? I can’t imagine there is just a setting for this somewhere.
Sorry to hear that you are still having the same problem, I am still having it as well. I figured witht he new update they might have taken care of some of these bugs.
