Sure, it is working, but you will have to repeat it, in case you ever have to re-do your Plex library.
With the other approach, Plex can pick it up automatically.
Oh i see. I did find in my shield directory a folder called āPMS Plugin Logs.ā Inside it are different agent logs. Should i delete all of them or any specific one?
This is not about logs. The folder Plug-in Support should be beside the Logs folder.
yea i dont think its accessible. What do you think could be the cause?
Cause of what? The folder being inaccessible? Android.
No i mean of the foreign postersā¦could it be related to the plex app and server updates?
I donāt know yet. What happens if you disable all the other lines (except Local Assets) under Plex Movie and Refresh Metadata once again? Are now all posters missing? This could hint at a total failure of the Plex Movie agent to deliver posters at all.
Noā¦actually all the same posters are there. No more and no less. And its still showing plexapp.agents.imdb
That didnāt help. Both were set that way already.
Not quite allā¦but most.
Mine are older movies, but just recently added to the Plex libraryā¦
The Spanish and Porteguese are the only options. No English posters are available for the movies that get this problem.
I just setup another server on PC to see if it was something with the shield that was causing this. Added a couple of the problem movies to the library, and it still comes up with the foreign posters. So i dont know what to do next
I think the issue is with their code. A friend is also seeing it. Unfortunately, He didnāt not what version he was on, before upgrading to current (he was behind the times)
I am having the same issue. It was fine until my plex broke on my freenas server and I had to redo the plugin and recreate the libraries. Same version of plex server so I wouldnāt have expected any changes.
Same issue, and it is likely not relevant to server version. Still running 1.16.2.1297
Issue started a few days ago. English posters available but are not listed as first choice when editing poster.
Also noticed the behavior while browsing upcoming movies to DVR. Non-English posters selected there as well.
This might not apply to all users in this thread.
Please notice thereās been a major overhaul of The Movie Database during the last few days/weeks. It seems as part of that they also removed lots of posters⦠not quite sure what triggered this ā maybe this is posters with some copyright violations (e.g. watermarked etc.)⦠however⦠thatās just a guess.
If thereās no posters available in Plex in your language you might want to check out The Movie Database and consider contributing to their repository
Some users have already started adding their posters to TMDb ā those might show up for you as you move forward.
I had to completely rebuild my Plex library last week thanks to a dead drive and Iām now encountering this as well. Never had any issues previously with foreign posters, this time itās a mess.
Couple of things Iāve noticed in case itās helpful:
- Initially, I had both older and newer movies with foreign posters. Refreshing metadata did nothing.
- I checked, and every setting that can be set to English and/or country is set correctly.
- As of today, refreshing the metadata on newer movies - 2010 or more recent - seems to work, and English posters are restored.
- Older movies, however, are not. Anything prior to that, from pre-2010 doesnāt change.
- Oddly, posters are in a variety of languages. So far Iāve found French, German, Japanese, Hungarian (I think), Russian and Spanish.
Given the variety of languages, it seems unlikely to be a settings issue. It also seems like the split in modern versus older posters might be a source issue.
Other than that, Iām baffled. Iām going crazy trying to get my library back in order.
I think you are onto something with TMDB being screwy. That has been my feeling since I started noticing it. I just wondered this morning if others were having this issue and sure enough, here is the thread⦠
Thanks
