Movie posters and backgrounds are not displaying on a specific server/library using Android client

When viewing the home screen on Android the movie posters and backgrounds are blank on a specific server in a specific library. The app correctly displays posters/backgrounds on all other servers/libraries. Happens on both the Firestick and my phone. Roku devices are displaying the content correctly. I have tried database repair/recreate library/plex shuffle to no avail.

Also, continue watching likes to disappear and/or only show one item sometimes. Other times it shows continue watching just fine.

Live TV & DVR guide scrolls too slow when holding down the button.

While watching Live TV and the connection to the stream is lost the status in the dashboard will disappear and leave the Android client with a never ending buffer circle.

No, the Android devs don’t care.

I rebuilt the server in question as it was just a handful of movies and the posters came back for the Android client and literally overnight it broke again.

I don’t care anymore. I refuse to use the Android client with this much neglect. And YES that’s EXACTLY what it is. NEGLECT.

I’ve had this issue on both my fire tv sticks for many months…are they even monitoring these threads?

Is who monitoring? The Android devs? Plex must have fired them.

So after a little research, I think I found a solution to my problem. I went into SETTINGS → LIBRARIES (under Manage)-> and chose one of my libraries having the issue. I chose to EDIT that library, chose ADVANCED, and changed the AGENT to PLEX MOVIE (LEGACY). Curious if that fixes it for you…My custom posters came back.

The movie posters are 100% fine for devices other than Android and it’s isolated to one specific server. I’m not trying to use depreciated features or downgrade. Plex needs to fix their Android clients once and for all.

Do you have more than 1 “Custom server access URL” set by chance? (And potentially specifically one of them being an internal only URL?).

I had this exact issue only with android-based clients up until now, but when I reduced my list of custom server access URLs to 1 publicly accessible URL, the issue went away instantly :slight_smile:
