Yesterday my server stopped downloading movie posters and backgrounds.
The rest of the metadata downloads without issue, and matching is still quick but movie posters and backgrounds just will not load.
I updated the server today to see if that was the issue and restarted the server, but still no posters.
I have emptied \Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Caches\ repeatedly, which had been the solution in the past. Still no resolution.
Is this happening to anyone else today?

Sure. I just attempted a metadata refresh on files with missing posters before downloading the logs so they should be the most recent information.
I have at the very least found a workaround for this:
I switched the library agent from “Plex Movie (Legacy)” to “Plex Movie”.
I’ve honestly been using this for so long I don’t know when the agent it was set to became “Legacy” but I guess it was time to update the setting.
Under “Plex Movie” as the agent, posters are downloading again.
OK. The Plex Movie Legacy agent is going to get discontinued at some point so good you upgraded it. One of the main differences of the new agent is that the settings for it are in the specific library settings under advanced, not in the server Agent settings which only apply to the legacy ones.
Well, this workaround was short lived.
Plex is no longer matching movies/tv shows at all. When I try to manually match them, Plex Movie/Plex TV Series are the only agent options and search is immediate with 0 results. Even if I strip the titles down to a single word and remove the year, it will immediately say there are no matches.
The General section of the settings where it checks for an update to the server now says “Something went wrong. Please install manually” and I used that link to re-download the latest version and repair my install but that didn’t change this issue.
I’ve disabled my firewalls and restarted my router in case it was a blocking or DNS issue with no resolution.

I’m having the same issue. In my case, this happened after I upgraded to version 1.24.5.5173. This is the second time it’s happened Last time I moved my movies to another folder and rescanned them. It worked but I’m not doing this every time I upgrade the server
Okay, this problem just got real dumb.
I mentioned before I turned off my firewall and that didn’t change anything. However, when I completely turned off my antivirus software, suddenly Plex can download metadata and check for updates.
So somehow my antivirus software, when enabled but with just the firewall turned off, is still blocking plex from reaching the plex servers but not from streaming to external sources.
This issue appears to be with my antivirus software.
