For some reason Plex will not download movie posters anymore. It pulls in the cast list… description…everything else… just not the movie poster. Instead it’s using some random screenshot from the movie.
I’ve read several articles and tried many different solutions.. none of them is working.
I’m using Plex Movie as my primary agent and I’ve turned off Local Media Assets AND moved it to the bottom of the list… I’ve emptied the trash on my server and refreshed all the metadata… I’ve checked my library directly to ensure that it’s using Plex Movie as well… nothing works…
I see you’re running your server on a Terramaster NAS - I’m not at all familiar with the platform but could this maybe be something similar: Terramaster - can't install 1.18.3 or above
As for the actual movie issue, I can see some requests are failing preventing some of the metadata from being downloaded. Could you just try and open this url in your browser and see if it loads up some XML: https://meta.plex.tv/m/0086465?lang=id&ratings=1&reviews=1&extras=1
Can you just try restarting your NAS then, we did some DNS changes to these services a little while back which maybe for some strange reason haven’t propagated through to that device yet.
sure thing… I also saw that there was an update available for PLEX on my NAS and I clicked “update” but it just sits there… maybe the reboot will help that too.
My NAS seems to be running the latest software from Terramaster… at least, there’s nothing that says I need to download an update…
So, plex was behaving just fine and then suddenly yesterday it started acting up again. I rebooted my NAS and made sure everything was updated… and then it was fine again… well, now it’s back to not downloading posters even though it brings in all the other info… if I reboot the NAS…it seems fine again… and then hours later…broken…
