Movie Scraper Inconsistent

Hey folks,

I have a bit of an annoyance happening.

When I add a new movie to my library and the scan finds it, downloads the metadata and artwork, it almost always sets the default art on the movie as one of the background or fanart images, not the movie poster. So I have to edit ever movie manually and pick the poster art (which is there already as an option in the poster section).

I’m used to Kodi for all my local streaming, and it never has a problem picking the right poster. It uses themoviedb.org and thetvdb.com to scrape art and data.

So I set the Library preferences in Plex server to favor those sources too, but the problem persists.

Any ideas why this is happening? I pretty much have to do this for ever movie I add, with very few exceptions. It took a while to do 390 flicks too.

This also happens often with music. Even though the cover is embedded in the mp3 it uses artist pic inherited from artist scraper. I then have to refresh metadata manually, or pick the cover manually.

Yes, the naming convention is fine. The scraper matches the file with the correct movie, it just fails to apply the poster Art, and chooses instead a Background photo as the poster. The poster art is downloaded and available to select in the file properties, it just doesn’t.

I’ll have to find a new movie and add it before I can provide a screenshot since Ive already fixed existing posters manually.
