Movie Scrapping : provide manualy a URL

Sometimes, movie scrapping does not work well. Mostly on short movies, for instance all short movies for Despicable me are not correctly scrapped, even if you enter the exact name by which they are found in IMDB.
It would be good to help the scrapper if we could provide manually the URL for those movies when editing the movie. This way it would save a lot of time for the user rather than having to enter everything manually.

you can just use the movies tt# in the search field to match it.

I have just tried changing the title with the tt# then hit refresh… it does not work.
Even if it did work, it would be a hidden feature not very good UX.
There is not search option in the plex server when editing a movie. Mind explaining how to do this…

fully documented feature.

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201018497-Fix-Incorrect-Match-Match

OK, thank you for pointing in the right direction. I do everything from the list of films, I do not open every film individually.
I did not know this feature existed there.

May be having the option directly from the edit window and the drop down on the movie from the movie list would make it more obvious and reduce the number of clicks to get there. Also the search window needs to clarify that the title can receive a IMDB number (maybe via a note at the bottom). Basically the tip shouldn’t be hidden in the documentation but available to users, others it’s as good as KODI. The whole purpose of Plex vs Kodi it to make it easier for user and spend less time in the documentation to figure out how to do things.

Thanks again

I had a very similar issue with the short movies for Despicable Me 2 and followed the “fully documented feature” link above. The problem persisted. Then I finally chose “Unmatch” for “Despicable Me 2” and the shorts and the rest of the extras in the same folder appeared. Then I selected “Despicable Me 2” again and chose “Fix Match…” from the “…” link in the web UI and when it found the correct match, everything was working as it should.

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (Fix Match based on IMDb/TMDb ID, including IMDb/TMDb ID in folder names…)
