Movie Showing up in TV shows

Apologies if this has been asked before (I’m sure it has). I wasn’t able to find the answer in the form but maybe I’m not doing a good job at picking my search terms.

Here is the issue:

I have a movie showing up as a TV show. Unfortunately, I have my movies and TV shows under the same folder and I kinda need it to stay that way. Plex does an amazing job at identifying the vast majority of my media correctly. Is there a way I can just manually move a ‘TV show’ over into my Movies? I tried editing the title and found a ton of cool things I could edit but unfortunately not whether Plex identifies it as a show or a movie.

Sorry in advance if this is one of those options that’s so obvious its staring me in the face. Thanks for any insight anyone has on this!

I’m using both windows and roku if that helps.

I should mention that I also need to keep the naming convention of the original file itself. I know these might be weird restrictions. Kinda a long story.

Your issue can’t be fixed in that case.

Deal with that - and whatever else refuses to work.

Yep… usually when Plex misbehaves - it has something to do with your misbehavior…lol

I know you want, at least some, TV Shows and Movies joined at the hip. There’s a ‘work-around’ of sorts that will let you do that… kinda…:

I have a ‘Hitchcock’ Collection in the Movie Library.
I made another ‘Hitchcock’ Collection in the TV Show Library.

At the bottom of ‘whatever collection’ you’re viewing at the time - is the 'Other Collection.

It doesn’t work in ALL Clients, but I think that’s probably being worked on (looks at The Roku Wing and Wings a rotten head of cabbage at the window…)

You wouldn’t want to make ‘Too Many’ Collections, or put ‘Too Many’ items in them:
