How Come TV Episodes Are Showing As Recently Added Movies On The Front Page?

Here is what I am talking about.

Without knowing your overall folder organisation, just from what I can gather from the video above:

I can see that you tried with the ‘collections’ feature to force your incorrectly named episode files and make them appear as a tv show, but they are still treated by Plex as movies.

You need to separate TV shows and movies into 2 different folders on your hard drive.
Then you need to rename the episode files of your tv show, so they follow the Plex naming standards for tv shows.

Then you should edit your movie library (‘Add Folders’ tab) and point it to the folder which only contains movies.
Then the same with the tv show library.

The two folders for tv shows and movies must not overlap.
It is a bad idea to point plex simply to a folder named video and in there to have both movies and tv shows.

Just to make sure:

TV Shows have to go into a TV Show Library, Movies have to go into a Movies Library. The two can’t live in the same library type.

I don’t know how you have your Movies named, but for the spit-second I got a look at the ‘info’ for your TV Show I saw that it wasn’t named or structured properly:

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220687-Naming-Series-Season-Based-TV-Shows
Particularly for The Night Manager: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=290508 (The Night Manager at TVDB)

A TV Show Library/
…The Night Manager/
…Season 01/
…The Night Manager - S01E01.XXX

Now that they’re named and structured wrong and Plex doesn’t know what to do with them (obviously) I would Plex Dance® the entire show:

The Plex Dance®:

  1. remove show from library
  2. update library
  3. clean bundles
  4. empty trash
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <----- update libraries, clean bundles, empty trash
  5. rename and restructure show (FileBot, link in my signature, can do this for you in seconds automatically)
  6. replace show into library
  7. update library
